Vancouver Moving TipsWhat should you do to make your move go smoother? Well, apart from hiring the appropriate Vancouver moving company you can also takes some steps on your own to make the move go more smoothly! Here are some basic things to take into consideration on your upcoming relocation. Keep pets and animals away, pack your boxes properly, prepare easy access for the movers and get your furniture ready for the move. Keep Pets and Animals away A move can be hazardous at times and keeping pets and animals out of the way is very important to everyone’s safety. When movers are transporting your furniture their angle of vision is usually very limited. It’s very easy NOT to see a child or small animal in your path under your line of vision. For that reason keep children away at neighbors, friends or family. Keep pets in a cage, the car or the toilet, for the later make sure to put a sign on the door so that the movers don’t accidentally use the premises and allow the pet to escape! Pack your boxes properly I always can’t stress enough how the importance of packing boxes properly. Keep lids shut tight and taped, never have open boxes. Try to distribute the weight so that heavier objects are in the bottom of the box and the lighter ones on top. Use plenty of padding material, the more the merrier. Prepare access for the movers This applies to both inside the premises and outside. In Vancouver it isn’t always easy for movers to find a parking spot for the moving truck…this can cause delays because they have to park the truck further away to the entrance of your home. It’s always a good idea to place cones or chairs on the spot where the truck will be loading your furniture or even park your care there is possible. In the case of Vancouver Office moves, try to get a temporary parking license from the city of Vancouver. In your home, use common sense, keep objects away from the path of the movers and pile boxes near the walls to make it easier for movers to attack the pile step by step while keeping the access free of obstacles. For additional packing tips please feel free to give us a call and we will be glad to assist you on your upcoming move in the Vancouver area. |
